DownVu (ClearVu) Sonar for GPS plotters with DownVu sonar technology DownVu (ClearVu) technology provides an image similar to conventional sonar, but with a more realistic display. In a DownVu (ClearVu) sonar image, the outlines of plants or obstacles are clearly distinguishable in two, just as fish are more easily identified in the water column. DownVu technology is included with Garmin Otter sonar instruments and combination GPS plotters. Compatible products are usually marked with the letters "dv", for example the echoMAP 50dv.
The 010-12087-01 sonde has an eight-pin connector for connection to a Garmin plotter and is designed for mounting on the "heart" (stern of the boat). For stand-alone DownVu probes, the 010-12087-00 probe is used. For anglers fishing in shallow water who want a traditional and scanning CHIRP ClearVü sonar, this bow or trolling motor mounted transducer consistently displays fish arcs as well as clear images of objects, structures and fish passing under your boat.
